Yudi Edelstein’s visit to London

The British branch of Likud-Herut hosted The Minister of Information and the Diaspora Affairs, Yuli Edelstein during his visit to London in February.  At the event, the minister answered many questions posed by about forty active supporters of the LIkud movement on the Iranian nuclear programme, anti-Semitism, the building freeze, relations between Israel and the USA, and many more.

In a charismatic speech to about 500 guests at the gala dinner of the Zionist Federation, celebrating its 110th anniversary, Mr Edelstein warned against the rise of a “new” anti-Semitism disguised as anti-Zionism. Stressing the importance of investigating allegations of wrongdoing, he criticised the Goldstone report for reinforcing the campaign of hatred against Israel.

The minister was the speaker at an event in the Houses of Parliament, and also attended a reception in his honour at the home of the Israeli Ambassador.   Arik Gerber, the manager of strategy and communications of LIkud-Herut UK stated: “I am very pleased that it was possible for us to take a central role in the organisation of the minister’s important visit to London.  We were most impressed by his ability, and his efforts and those of his office towards improving the image of Israel in the U.K and the rest of Europe, and towards the advancement of relations between Israel and the Diaspora " .
